El Naturalista is a Spanish brand that prides itself on its honourable philosophy and sustainable code of conduct.

Their designs are comfortable, fashionable and individual.

I normally don’t cope well with corporate videos – especially when they take 4 mins to tell me how fabulous they are. But this video feels real. I’ll admit, at least part of it is the sexy Spanish accents but it is more than that. If you’ve got a spare four and a bit minutes, sit down, breathe and remind yourself that in these days of multinational companies destroying the world for dastardly consumer gain, there are still some companies that are holding the line in the sand and doing their bit in the fight between good and evil.

I love the idea of a shoe that can really make the world a better place

But that’s really just the start. Here’s what Keen say about their shoes.

This is a focus for KEEN with several initiatives. We are reducing and eliminating materials containing toxins. We are reducing the amount of waste in manufacturing our products. We are harvesting our waste stream for use in new shoes and bags. Lastly, we are using materials with sustainable attributes whenever possible.

This is their response to the question – what is Keen doing to give back to communities around the world?

KEEN established a giving program in 2005 called Hybrid.Care. We strive to be a company with a conscience by making a positive difference, giving back to the greater community and caring for the environment we share and depend on.
