With the cooler weather coming and (I hope) all that rain gone, my El Naturalista obsession has now morphed into an obsession with boots.

In honour of that, I watched the 2005 movie Kinky Boots recently and for anyone who shares my love of boots, it is well worth watching.

Here’s the blurb:

Charlie Price thinks he has finally escaped the dead-end industrial town of Northampton with ambitious fiance, Nicola, when his father suddenly passes away, leaving Charlie unexpectedly in charge of the sinking family business in sturdy shoes. Trapped between a world of cheap knock-offs and to-die-for Jimmy Choos, Price & Sons seemingly doesn’t need a manager so much as it needs a savior. See, I’ve been telling my husband for years that the right pair of boot can change your life. Check out our new range of boots in for winter – there’s a gorgeous pair of Earth boots which are fabulous to look at and have the negative heel technology and the Camper boots are pretty special too.

I had coffee with Sally yesterday and she said something that really rang some bells.
She said the reason so many people were so passionate about the shop was because it is one of the few places where you can get older, wear “sensible” shoes and still look fantastic.

The subject heading of this post is a Sally quote. Controversial? Maybe.

But isn’t it good to know there is a shoe shop out there that is somewhere between 6 inch red stilettos and nana shoes?
